50 years since the wall went up

It should be remembered. How would countless lives have been if it never went up? How many people would still be alive? Would have – could have – should have … funny how it still makes me angry … and even more so the people who defended building it, defending imprisoning people for their own power or some greater good.

And how would my life have been without it coming down again? Yes, freedom might be to dance in chains (Nietzsche) … but nevertheless: No philosophy, no traveling, no green emerald Isle to call home now …
